Helpful tips for a Stress free Holiday


A few helpful tips for a stress free holiday:


1-Give your child a list or schedule of the upcoming events. You can use a written or a visual schedule.


2-Set expectations before the event, so your child knows what to expect.


3-Know when your child needs a break from the event. Create a code word that he or she can use if he or she feels overwhelmed.


4-Be prepared by knowing your child’s specific limitations. Don’t wait for a meltdown to begin. For example, if your child is sensitive to loud noises bring ear plugs or if your child has difficulty sitting still have a plan to have your child take a break from the event.


5-If you child is on a special diet, plan ahead by bringing your own treats or make enough for all the children.


6-Try to have your child get a good night sleep, which  is always best before a festive and long holiday event.
